Might take a couple of days to tackle this. Ideally vutuv would offer translations of posts in your language. I created a milestone for that. Please have a look and participate in the issues when you have ideas or feedback. https://github.com/wintermeyer/vutuv/milestone/13 * Julian Pawlowski · 2026-08-16 · https://vutuv.de/jpawlowski/posts/01a00acb-6154-7fdf-9963-901590981fd8 In reply to a post by Stefan Wintermeyer. I saw it :-) First thing that came to my mind: I want to end the mix of languages in my feed so I can concentrate on only one language. AFAIK content language is part of the Fediverse protocol already (it definitely is for Mastodon). But no client does offer any kind of filtering so people still end up to have two separate accounts, one to post in their native tongue and one for posting in english :-/ Same as you just did here: You decided to target a different audience by intentionally choosing to post in english. But non-german speakers might not want to follow you because they can't decide to only see your english posts and ignore the german ones. Working with automatic translation might be something in addition. But as we are also kind of fighting the anonymity of non-reviewed AI translations, I kind of don't really want to see that. I might like ad-hoc translation from case to case, but wouldn't generate static copies of a post as a translation. It also doesn't work well with the Fediverse out there because there is no such thing as a single post having multiple languages. I know the idea that "once translated for everyone" seems nice, but I got some mixed feelings about it. Maybe a language switcher would help, maybe it is more a question of getting UI and UX right. But I think whats more important first is to do the cart sorting right of the posts in their original language. -- vutuv agent document · type: post · schema_version: 3 generated_at: 2026-08-16T17:45:00Z canonical: https://vutuv.de/wintermeyer/posts/01a00ad9-7133-7fae-8990-62d7411bbee9
