About
A FOSS company
Semalibre provides a structure and a network for adepts of Free and Open Source Software
(FOSS). It aims to help who wants to promote in his job (with time or money) open source
communities and projects.
The infrastructure is chosen among FOSS solutions which are remunerated. In particular,
1% of the income is redistributed to FOSS communities.
A social cooperation
Semalibre is a cooperative company (SCOP CAE in french legal terms) with a focus on
embedded systems development.
Being a SCOP means anyone may become an associate and each associate has an equal vote
for any decision.
Being a CAE means that freelancers are also employees: they contribute to the company,
the accountancy is unique but it splits for each freelancer, meaning the funds are
managed independently.
Semalibre has decided to focus on embedded systems to provide a cooperative
communication and visibility.
The main area is Grenoble in France.
We, at Semalibre, welcome anyone, regardless of gender or origin and promote inclusive
writing.
