In #Persian, we’ve got a saying “A handful, a sample of the pile”. It’s for generalization of a small sample to a whole group.
For instance, I see few math students who use a small whiteboard. I say “See! This is a handful, a sample of the pile”. Here I’m saying most(or all) math students use a small whiteboard.
What are the equivalent sayings in #BritishEnglish, #AmericanEnglish, #IrishEnglish and #AustralianEnglish?
What about other languages? If you are a native speaker, what similar saying or proverb have you got in your language?
