RIP, toot.community. So many people I’m connected with migrated to other servers. Which is great. But some folks are getting left behind.

It’s sad when an entire fedi server powers down. But it also highlights how rad the fediverse is. It can’t just be shut down like centralized social media. One instance closes up shop and folks can move to another one. Without losing their connections/community.

Edit: I’m not dragging the admin. He gave folks lots of warning, and did what he could to make it as painless as possible. That’s how your admin a server. ❤️

Do you know someone on toot.community? Please tell them it is closing on 28th October! Toot.community members need to transfer their account to another server now because the follower transfer process can take several days to complete.
