Itโ€™s quite funny to watch your favorite Elixir podcast in your own podcast player built with #elixirlang. MacroMayhem is a wonderful podcast. I hope @gworkman.bsky.social and @peterullrich.com keep up for a long time.

Screenshot of a web browser displaying a video player. The video player shows two men standing against a black curtain. The man on the left wears a green shirt and the man on the right wears a black T-shirt. The video player is framed by a white border. On the left side of the screen, there is a menu with several items. The text "MacroMayhem" is visible at the top of the menu.

Made some massive optimizations to compile times, memory usage, and disk size of #AshFramework applications. ๐ŸŽ‰ Benchmarks on my own large app.

๐Ÿ”— If you asked a previous coworker of mine to describe me, I suspect my constant questions would be front of mind.

Even with AI I constantly ask it to defend or explain a code pattern it chose.

One other helpful thing I do is kickoff background research agents to see how other #ElixirLang open source projects solve similar problems.

Ithibati 0.1.0 is out: passkey authentication for Elixir.

Most auth libraries answer two questions at once, who someone is and what they may do. The second differs in every application, which is why the first so rarely gets reused. Ithibati answers only the first, and your users table stays yours.

Recovery codes, invitations, revocable sessions, an optional Phoenix half. No password field anywhere, and no sign-in form either.

Time to extract my auth code, I build in three #elixirlang apps into a library. Otherwise, I go crazy with maintaining this.
