Has anyone made a child friendly device using #postmarketos ? Ie: no login process, only shows a limited number of curated apps, ideally can only go from showing app menu to one of the apps and back.
The #Phosh interface and experience looks more complicated than I was hoping for.
@phosh@social.phosh.mobi users: There are some regressions regarding OSK input (like the keyboard showing too often or text prediction not working) when using #Phosh with apps using #gtk 4.24. So if possible please stick to 4.22 just a bit longer, until these are resolved.
Note that this also applies to Flatpaks using the GNOME 51 runtime.
Maybe #Flatpak maintainers that want to help mobile users could stick to the 50 runtime just a little bit longer too.
So you added a user account to your linux (mobile) for any reason? That account will never be used to login to #Linux?
Well, it will show up on your login screen unless you picked an uid from the range of system accounts.
On #Mobian and #postmarketOS the login screen is presented by the greeter run from greetd. For #Phosh the greeter is #Phrog. The user accounts to show on the login screen are requested from #AccountsServices.
One way to get rid of an user account on the login screen is to mark it as a system account: USER=<username>; echo -e ‘[User]\nSystemAccount=true’ | sudo tee /var/lib/AccountsService/users/$USER; sudo chmod 600 /var/lib/AccountsService/users/$USER
