π» After three visits, I still get goosebumps as I push open the heavy doors and step inside once more.
This spectacular control room was built in the 1920s in Art Deco style. Natural light enters through an immense central skylight. Levers, switches, and dials line the walls, while crescent-shaped panels encircle the space. A concrete bunker with a steel door stands to one side, built to protect workers during WW2 air strikes.
