Ornate scalloped arches, inspired by mediaeval Georgian church architecture and Islamic-influenced stone carving. One of my favourite parts of this old miner’s sanatorium in Tskaltubo, Georgia.

🔥The Kings Hall Methodist Church, in Southall (London). Built in 1916, left abandoned in 2013, and lost to a devastating fire in 2026.
This place has now been erased, and only photos remain. I was lucky enough to explore inside in 2022; although decaying, this place was still so beautiful 🩵.
👻 After three visits, I still get goosebumps as I push open the heavy doors and step inside once more.
This spectacular control room was built in the 1920s in Art Deco style. Natural light enters through an immense central skylight. Levers, switches, and dials line the walls, while crescent-shaped panels encircle the space. A concrete bunker with a steel door stands to one side, built to protect workers during WW2 air strikes.

🎭 Bringing down the house. A collapsing theatre I explored a few years ago, somewhere in Italy
An abandoned Roman Catholic church in northern England. Constructed in the 1960s during a period of transition within the Catholic Church, the design features contemporary architecture and beautiful glasswork.
On the western wall, a dalle de verre features coloured glass set into a concrete frame depicting religious iconography.
The church closed nearly 15 years ago; the failing roof needs costly repairs,

🆕🏛️ New location feature: New Parliament House (Old Royal High School), Scotland
The UK government bought the site in the 1970s, planning to house the proposed Scottish Assembly here. The failed 1979 devolution referendum left the building in limbo.
In 2026, it is being renovated into an event space.
