The recent episode in Ceuta, with the Moroccans who came to walk through the streets of the city, is undoubtedly staged.
Thousands of young dudes, well-organized, smiling and shouting “Spain! Trabajar!”, walking around, hanging out, making pictures and then dutifully returning back under a supervision of 2 (two) policemen, armed with jacks? C’mon.
I wonder if it’s staged by Spanish rights on US money or directly by Americans.
I do not know if it was staged or not. But it was interesting that on one day > 50,000 people risk their live to enter via the ocean and on the next day they peacefully leave.
- There is no evidence the total was above 3–5 thousand. The whole population of Ceuta is barely 80K. Do the math.
- People did not risk anything. It needed a slippers to bypass the breakwater played the role of a barrier, waist deep in water.
- Almost all the invaders were 18–30 yo male, having Internet in their iPhones, speaking English, willingly posing for the camera.
- There were zero cases of violence or even shoplifting.
- The main reason the invaders stated as why they come back, is “There is no drinking water, nor food, and we were to sleep on benches to make it through the night.”
Well, all I could do on that matter, I wrote a song mocking the mayor of Ceuta.
