My understanding so far: this book aims to provide a political left perspective on how to create a better digital world than the current one. First by discussing the problems of capitalism & digitalisation followed by proposals for a diff approach. It pleads to combine digital & social issues, because they cannot be seen separately. They are part of the same struggle ✊

I love a cartoon that sums up a line of argument I have often made as a political economist, so here’s a great example from the (recently deceased) P.C.Vey - whose work appeared in the New Yorker & elsewhere.

The recent episode in Ceuta, with the Moroccans who came to walk through the streets of the city, is undoubtedly staged.
Thousands of young dudes, well-organized, smiling and shouting “Spain! Trabajar!”, walking around, hanging out, making pictures and then dutifully returning back under a supervision of 2 (two) policemen, armed with jacks? C’mon.
I wonder if it’s staged by Spanish rights on US money or directly by Americans.
