It’s great when brave journalists like the team at @404mediaco@mastodon.social takes on tech-bro abusers. Their reporting inspired a massive uprise against @protonprivacy@mastodon.social and their CEO, Andy Yen.
In response, Andy threw together an all-hands to say the following:
“I want to acknowledge myself, personally, that there was a communication failure on my part and there are many things that probably could and should have been communicated differently, and this is something that I’ll have to reflect on and improve over time.”
He “probably could” have said things differently. And he has to “reflect on and improve” his toxicity “over time.”
Those are words from someone who was pressured by shareholders and investors to right a wrong. Not someone who feels remorse.
This is the power we have, folks. Some abusers seem very resilient. But most crumble when we rise together.
Stay loud. Ditch faulty products by faulty companies. Tell ‘em. 💪🏻
