A couple of days ago @morosanmihail ask me to tackle the language problem for posts. It is deployed. Please give it a try at vutuv.de/settings/feed_languages
You can define the languages of posts you want to read. In addition you can get an auto translated version of every other language.

@macfranc asked for an Italian translation for vutuv. Claude has just completed and deployed it. Please test it and report any issues you encounter. Since I don’t speak Italian, I am not able to identify any problems.

Aktuell wird eine neue vutuv Version auf dem Produktivserver eingespielt. Dabei geht es um verschiedene Sprachen. Kann sein, das nicht direkt alles so wie gewünscht funktioniert.
Wie immer: Nicht in Panik geraten! Wir sind hier nicht im OP. Es muss bei Fehlern keiner sterben. Wer kann, bitte ein Issue auf GitHub eintragen. Wer das nicht kann: Hier posten oder mich anschreiben. Danke!

I saw it :-)
First thing that came to my mind: I want to end the mix of languages in my feed so I can concentrate on only one language. AFAIK content language is part of the Fediverse protocol already (it definitely is for Mastodon). But no client does offer any kind of filtering so people still end up to have two separate accounts, one to post in their native tongue and one for posting in english :-/
Same as you just did here: You decided to target a different audience by intentionally choosing to post in english. But non-german speakers might not want to follow you because they can’t decide to only see your english posts and ignore the german ones.
Working with automatic translation might be something in addition. But as we are also kind of fighting the anonymity of non-reviewed AI translations, I kind of don’t really want to see that. I might like ad-hoc translation from case to case, but wouldn’t generate static copies of a post as a translation. It also doesn’t work well with the Fediverse out there because there is no such thing as a single post having multiple languages. I know the idea that “once translated for everyone” seems nice, but I got some mixed feelings about it. Maybe a language switcher would help, maybe it is more a question of getting UI and UX right. But I think whats more important first is to do the cart sorting right of the posts in their original language.
I am on it. Might take a couple of days to tackle this. Progress can we followed at github.com/wintermeyer/vutuv/…
I think we can do better about the language gap here. Ideally vutuv would offer translations of posts in your language. I created a milestone for that. Please have a look and participate in the issues when you have ideas or feedback. github.com/wintermeyer/vutuv/…
