Stichwort #digitaleSouveränität: Hat jemand hier praktische Erfahrungen mit einem de-googled Smartphone? Ich finde /e/OS von Murena ganz charmant, bin aber doch zu unsicher, mein Handy zu zerschießen. Ich wünsche mir die volle Funktionalität meines bisherigen Smartphones. Fragezeichen habe bei den Funktionen:

  • Apps aus dem Google App Store. Denn seien wir ehrlich: Ein paar werden fehlen
  • Funktioniert meine Postbank App noch? Ohne geht es nicht
  • Funktionieren “find my phone” und gibt es eine Fern-Löschung bei Verlust?
  • Was ist mit NFC Payment?
  • Gibt es RCS Chat?

Nach meinen Recherchen glaube ich, dass alles bis auf den letzten Punkt gehen wird. Bin aber wie gesagt nicht sicher genug, es zu riskieren.

Ich kenne mich mit Android null aus. Deshalb mal die naheliegende Frage: Kann man sich von einem Android-System ein volles Backup ziehen und das dann später wieder eins zu eins einspielen? Dann wäre ja ein Versuch gefahrlos.

@wintermeyer @cmschmidt kurz um in der form wie du das möchtest wahrscheinlich nicht. Wenn man von google weg möchte ist es bei den smartphones schon beim modell der anfangspunkt. Fairphones mit offenen os bootloader sind da das bessere steckenpferd, fullbackups wie man sie von ios kennt wüsste ich nichts von. Banking Apps sind aber ein sehr deutliches Problem, die haben eigene Anforderungen die aus Dritt-Quellen zu ziehen kann zum Problem werden in Zukunft. Würde selbst aktuell noch warten.

Es gibt Berichte, dass Postbank funktionieren soll. Teilweise. Von drei Nutzern. Also keine gute Basis

@cmschmidt Ich nutze es seit Jahren und bin sehr zufrieden. Bisher hatte ich keine einzige App, die nicht funktioniert hat, hab auch 2 Banking-Apps drauf. NFC geht definitiv, FindmyPhone gibt es auch (beides aber selbst nie genutzt). Anstelle des Google AppStores gibt es die App Lounge von eOS, die auf den von Google mit anonymen Konto zugreift. Du kannst also theoretisch alles daraus installieren. Ich nutze das meiste allerdings aus FDroid.

Danke. Das mit dem store klingt wie Aurora, welches ich aktuell nutze, um Google wenigstens ein bisschen zu entkommen. Allerdings melden manche Apps, dass ich dasselbe Update gefälligst noch einmal aus Google play store ziehen muss. Google’s eigene Apps haben kein Problem damit lol

Weißt du, ob RCS Chat geht?

You don’t want to have all the same old “bad” Functionalities because that’s the point of degoogling lol.. You can use the Websites instead of Spying Apps ^^ You might want to check out as well : Graphene Os, Iode OS, PostMarket OS.. Maybe, it Would make sense you should just want a new Phone, not just an OS ?

NFC Payments sind aktuell Google/Android abhängig.

Es gibt sehr hochentwickelte Alternativen. Von Motorola wird es demnächst eine davon als off-the-shelf Variante geben.

Ich wünsche die Leute würden merken, dass Android gar nicht open source ist. Höchstens AOSP ist es. Würden sich doch nur ein paar große zusammentun und daraus basierend ein echtes freies System mit Wahlfreiheit setzen, hätte Google keine Chance mehr, die Bedingungen zu bestimmen. Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung z.B.
