I’ve just released version 1.3.1 of #btText, my #FOSS and #accessible text #snippet manager for Windows! This update improves performance when sorting large snippet lists, rendering Markdown snippets, and performing bulk operations. It also fixes several hotstring expansion and clipboard issues, preserves maximized windows and Snap layouts when inserting snippets, and improves error handling for invalid settings and databases.

So whoever needs to hear this:
The latest “AI” frontier models do NOT generate #accessible web pages.
They will not automate #accessibility testing, cannot take the role of a manual tester, will not magically fix all #accessibility issues on your website and cannot catch accessibility issues for you no matter how strictly you frown at them. What they will do is give you dramatically verbose, overengineered solutions to problems that don’t actually exist.
I just tested this today. You still need a human in the loop who knows what they’re doing. i’m one of those, happy to help if you pay me tokens. And by tokens I mean fair wages.
Don’t get me wrong, I do use #AI for my own projects at times. They just really aren’t good at this.

The highlight: Optional Markdown formatting for snippets, including bold, italics, links, and citations! Formatting is preserved when pasting into applications that support HTML or RTF.
Other improvements include Python 3.15, updated dependencies, faster performance, and several important bug fixes related to clipboard handling, privacy settings, hotstrings, database paths, and portable installations.

Going to flip the table in tonight’s stream.
For a while now, I’ve been streaming a lot of newly modded #accessible #games, as well as games with first-party #accessibility like #Wolverine and the upcoming #gearsOfWar stream. But tonight we’re taking a break from that.
We’re going all the way back to the classics the #blind community grew up with. Some #audioGames. some #MUD games. How did things go 10, 20 or even 30 years ago if you were blind and wanted to #game?
I’ll even had a guest on to pay a bit of homage to the iconic PG13LP streams of the time.
