#Discord PSA, please read if you’re admin of a “discoverable” server, and if you post on those servers. All other kinds of servers are not affected. Every time I write “server” in this thread, it means “discoverable server”.
Discord will set up Web pages for those servers, and messages from non-private channels will end up there.
⚠️ Discord admin action required! You can exclude additional channels in the server settings, please check it ASAP as that feature will start rolling out today.

Looks like Discord is rolling out the age verification again, more quietly this time.
Should you be considering leaving Discord for something else, here is a reminder that “Stoat” exists.
It’s a free and open source Discord alternative that used to be called “Revolt.” I am basically shouting into the void here, I know, but like, I see some people discussing leaving Discord and I am fucking begging you to not replace the shitty piece of proprietary software that was destined to fuck over its users to make money, with another promising but still shitty piece of proprietary software that will ultimately fuck over its users to make money. Please. For the love of everything.
People love Discord (for some reasons), well, here is a Discord clone that is free and open source. Go try it, give it an actual chance and don’t bail the second you encounter a minor inconvenience. If you can, consider contributing to the project, there are many ways to do so.
As stated before, Revolt has been around for a while before rebranding to today’s Stoat. They’ve been at it for a while and they’re still going, this isn’t your average “cool project that started a month ago and will dead in two weeks.” It’s there, it’s working, there is a dedicated team and a plan.
Let’s not repeat the same mistakes over and over again. For once. Please.
