New maps with #OpenStreetMap data from August 30 are now out. They will also be used in the next release version of CoMaps.

Speaking off new release: the 2026.08.31 version is already available for Android on Codeberg – and submitted for review with Google Play and iOS. Hopefully it will be available there soon too! codeberg.org/comaps/…

Also, today is the first date of the State of the Map 2026 event in Paris and some of our contributors are there. So if you’re attending, find them, say hi and maybe get some of our stickers!

Feedback about #FediHood is greatly appreciated. This is a small, unpretentious #Fediverse project. But it seems that the idea of linking #OpenStreetMap to discover content near you was something missing here. It was designed to never use a GPS. It warns you when your city is too small and suggests the biggest one around. Topics and language allow you to get tailored content. I will introduce the #ActivityPub Event used by #Mobilizon for the event topic.

Meine erste #FrOSCon und ich muss sagen, ich bin begeistert.
Tolle Gespräche – besonders am #Taler Stand, vielfältige Anregungen und super Talks.

Was habe ich mitgenommen? Mal wieder mehr mit #streetcomplete arbeiten. Leider habe ich den #Openstreetmap Workshop nicht gefunden. Aber ich werde mich mit dem Thema noch mal beschäftigen.

#collabora mal testen. Klang sehr spannend im Talk.

#Mastodon wieder häufiger nutzen. Der Talk mit @ueckueck@dresden.network war dazu inspirierend.
