We’ve been working diligently to get #FDroid Client ready for release.
If naming our releases ‘alpha’ or ‘rc’ impeded you to update, now you are free to install.
As usual we are exercising this as a stage roll-out, so you can now expand Versions and install 2.0.

The goal is to make #Fedilab free of gaps, even on very active timelines where some posts are no longer available on your instance.
#CastLab 1.6.0 has been released. It brings several fixes and enhancements. You can now share from any app to cast with CastLab.
Videos shared from #NewPipe are automatically turned into Invidious ones, and the list of Invidious instances is kept up to date.
You can also cast your phone audio to a speaker.

I would like to thank you all for respecting my choice to leave the Google Store. Seeing messages from people joining #FDroid to get the app and sharing their experience with a lot of good feedback made me very happy. What I read most often: F-Droid is easy to use, and the export/import feature works well with #Fedilab.
For push notifications, I recommend using #SunUp

#Fedilab updates will no longer reach Google Play store. What's your position:
Getting push notifications with the #FDroid app can be a deal breaker. I will work to make everything smooth in the next release by hosting my own NTFY instance and simplifying the process with #Fedilab, even making it transparent.
My favorite Mastodon app, Fedilab, is no longer on Google Play, but you can still get it from F-Droid.
You can import your old settings, too. It’s easy and only takes a few minutes. I’m not an experienced F-Droid user, but everything went smoothly…

Did you know that to be available on Google, I had to:
- Remove donation links
- Hard-coded censorship
- Create a dedicated account so they can log into it
I am really upset by this difference in strictness, where I am stuck.
This cost a lot of energy because they made everything simple for the end user but not for the devs.
All these actions are not for protecting you, it’s for controlling you.

- Donation section enhancements 😉 #Taler
- Translations updates (is your locale complete?)
- Fix subnet crash on Wi-Fi IP change
- Fix install service getting sticky
- Separate TV banners (again)
- Fix crash related to Nearby
- Fix repo sync when clock goes in the future then back (careful with your time travelling!)
- Fix back gesture crash with open menus
All Basic users are getting updated now.
Full users, allow beta or manual update, for now.
