Hi vutuv. I’m Jürgen. I got into IT in 1989 by writing software documentation, before I owned a computer. I never stopped writing.
At LakeDrops, a small Drupal agency, I maintain ECA, a workflow engine on more than 25,000 websites. Since July 2025 almost all my working time has gone into open source. The community never got an invoice for that. In September it did. More on that later.
So far I’ve only written for the Drupal crowd. Here I’m looking for people who have never installed Drupal and still ask the same questions. How do I automate work without chaining myself to a vendor? Which AI tools do I actually control? Who pays for the open source my business runs on? Who should I follow here who has nothing to do with Drupal?
OK, I had planned to do this during the next digital independence day, but here we go: This is a new server that is open to all members of #UniversityHamburg. Be kind, nice and tolerant and don’t abuse it. It is my server and I am making the rules 😉.

Hallo chaos.social. Ich bin Marc und mache seit 2015 die Museumstechnik am ZKM in Karlsruhe. Ich sorge dafür, dass morgens alles angeht. Das sind Projektoren und Kiosk-PCs, aber auch alte Browserkunst, die nur noch in einer VM läuft.
Hier poste ich, was dabei kaputtgeht und wie wir es wieder zum Laufen bringen. Ab und zu auch was aus meinem Homelab.

I’ve skipped around instances in the past and self-hosted for quite awhile, but that seemed a bit disconnected so I’m going to plant some roots in Stefano’s fine instance.
I’m a semi-retired Gen-X sysadmin (doing a little contract work remotely) currently living on Canada’s west coast. I also have Australian and Latvian passports and speak Spanish and some French.
I’ve been an avid musician since childhood and can often be found playing trad music in a pub somewhere (tenor banjo. Sorry, not sorry).
I prefer making quips to telling stories.
I’m a ginger and was born with a connective tissue disorder, so I look a bit like a scarecrow.
I love playing with simple tech and am quite bitter about corpos ruining everything. My home infra is all BSD.
I’m very much a ‘people before profit’ person and have very dear friends from every background. If you believe some people shouldn’t exist or are lesser due to their race, sexuality, or gender identification, please don’t interact with me.

Looking for #disabled people who want a friendship and someone who doesn’t mind me popping into their DMs regularly. In terms of #disabilities, I have juvenile #lupus and kidney failure which is a result of it. I also have #LongCovid, #diabetes, #cerebralpalsy, #AuDHD, #osteoporosis, and a slew of #mentalhealth diagnoses. I use oxygen, 24/7 oxygen user due to Long Covid as well as a full time wheelchair user. A boost would mean alot. #introduction #newhere
