Virtual Filesystem for Nextcloud Linux client is now available in beta! This is a huge step!

So you can see all the folders and files in your local file browser, but files are only really downloaded when you open them.

This is already possible on Windows and macOS, now finally coming to Linux.

It was said that when you unstall the latest release you can choose the VFS option, which is off by default, because it is currently in beta.

Der Umzug einer #Nextcloud inkl. Änderung des datadirectory Pfades hat zu ganz komischem Verhalten der Team Folder geführt: Download der Dateien war noch möglich, aber kein Bearbeiten im Online Texteditor oder in Collabora. Ursache: ich hätte direkt den Pfad in oc_storages ändern müssen. Ist auch alles dokumentiert, habs nur erst im Nachhinein gerfunden: docs.nextcloud.com/server/…

Markdown-Dateien können nun auch mit Kommentaren und Fußnoten versehen werden.

(Sehr schöne Sache - über die vielen Möglichkeiten von Nextcloud-Text hatte ich ja schon mal ausführlicher berichtet.)

👉 Teams als eigenständige App.
👉 Und Teams, denen Ressource gehören.
Das löst ein großes Problem: Bisher gehörten Ordner, Decks, Kalender immer einem User. Und wenn die Person das Unternehmen verlässt, müssen diese Ressourcen übertragen werden oder sie werden mit dem User gelöscht.
Der Workaround war bisher immer ein Systemuser, über den man solche Projekt-Ressourcen angelegt hat.
Jetzt kann man ein neues Team anlegen und dem gehören dann Files, Kalender, Deck, Chat usw.

🔴 🆘 Ich benötige mal kurz Hilfe vom Fediverse

Habe das Betriebssystem #linuxmint in der Version #lmde7 installiert und dazu das Flatpak #nextcloud (Siehe Foto)

Nun habe ich das “Automatische Anmelden” in Linux Mint aktiviert, also ohne Passwort.

Die Notebooks sollen für die Schulung eingesetzt werden, daher ohne PW.

Leider wird der Nextcloud-Client dann nicht gestartet oder es wird trotzdem nach einem PW gefragt.

Ich bekomme es also nicht hin, den Nextcloud Klienten ohne PW zu starten, also auch keine Synchronisation 🤦‍♀️

❓ Wie bekomme ich es hin, das beim Starten von Linux Mint der Nextcloud Klient ohne Passwort seine Arbeit aufnimmt?

Vielleicht hat @DigitalWriter@bildung.social eine Idee für mich?

Yesterday our friends at @CollaboraOffice@mastodon.social published an update supporting the #linux landlock feature. They’re one of the first bigger projects implementing this new #security sandbox technology.

It’s a real security improvement and you should use some minutes this weekend to log into your #Nextcloud server and run an update. Protect your #privacy and keep your #privatecloud safe!
